INTERVIEW - GOOD LUCK JANE

Good Luck Jane is a pop-rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band consists of Joey Busse (guitar and lead vocals), Andrew Slustky (lead guitar, keys, back up vocals), Dan Wywrot (rhythm guitar), Danny Katz (bass) and Jake Cooper (drums). Setting aside his busy schedule at school, Andrew Slutsky took the time to answer a few questions for us.

Check it out here:

1.Hey guys, can we get your names, age and what you do in the band?

Andrew Slutsky, 21. Lead guitar, keyboard, backup vocals.

Dan Wywrot, 22. Rhthym guitar

Danny Katz, 21. Bass guitar, backup vocals.

Jake Cooper, 21. Drums

Joey Busse, 21. Lead Vocals, guitar.

2. For all the kids who have never heard of you, how would you describe your style and music in 10 words?

Andrew: Alternative, Pop, Rock,. Catchy music that’s easy to relate to.

3. How did this band come together?

A: Jake and I were in a high school band that ended upon the start of college. At University of Illinois, they seeked out new members. Dan was the first addition. Soon came Joey on vocals. The group of four put out an EP “Word of the Week” summer after freshman year. Then Danny was added on bass and the group was complete.

4. How do you guys manage being in a successful band and still being in college?

A: It’s a lot of hard work. Being in a band is like having a full time job. There’s always something to do. Whether you’re practicing your instrument, practicing with the band, writing songs, promoting online, or thinking of ways to improve the band, it can always consume your time. To really go for it we almost have to put school second, but at the same time make sure our grades are still good enough.

5. Do you have any aspirations for the band?

A: We all hope for the best and would like to be able to continue Good Luck Jane for quite some time.

6. What’s the weirdest/craziest thing a fan has ever done to or for you?

A: None of it is “weird/crazy” but there are definitely things that stand out. Our fans sometimes send us care packages with food and even presents. It’s seriously one of the best things to know there’s people who support what you spend so much time doing.

7. The funniest thing a fan has ever said to you?

A: Probably not the funniest thing ever said, but something that sticks out is one of our fans was convinced Good Luck Jane was about Jane from Tarzan.

8. What’s your biggest pet peeve when you’re performing on stage?

A: Sometimes the microphone shocks you when you touch it. Or when the stage is crammed and you can’t move around freely.

9. If you had the chance to tour around the world with a band, who would it be and where would you go?

A: John Mayer. We haven’t done a world tour so we’d probably just let his crew take care of the routing.

10. Last but not least, do you guys have any advice for people who are looking into getting a band together?

A: Be ready to work, but make sure it’s always fun in the end.
