Introducing: Dylan Jakobsen

Dylan Jakobsen is a solo artist based out of Seattle, WA. Dylan has been invited to participate in huge opportunities such as receiving a highly coveted spot on the SXSW festival in Austin TX, touring the western US in summer of 2011, and been a supporting artist for acts like The Maine, Go Radio, This Providence, He Is We, The Dangerous Summer, Plug In Stereo, and Ocean Grove. Joining Dylan on stage are Bernardo Olivas, Sten Johansen, Kenny Lu, and Chris Dini who add the finishing touches to an unforgettable live show. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Maine, A Rocket To The Moon, The Summer Set, Carter Hulsey, Johnny Cash and even Bob Dylan, the new sound is definitely something Dylan can’t wait to unveil it for you all.

Very recently, Dylan went into the studio to begin work on what will be his first full length album release, produced by Adamm Mitchell (He Is We, I Am The Enemy). This 9 song LP, Tell Everything, is due out June 16th, 2012. Dylan has just released his first music video for “Tennessee” which will be featured on his upcoming album.

Check out the album artwork, tracklisting, and our interview with Dylan Jakobsen about the music video below!

What’s the story behind the song?

Dylan: I wrote it about being on the road and meeting a girl back in Tennessee. Being able spend a few hours with her but then having to take off and leave to the next city. That was basically the concept when I went in to write the song, a situation just like this happened to me actually on the last tour and so its relateable topic of mine.

Why did you pick this song as the single?

Dylan: I actually didn’t end up choosing this song as the single until about right before i sent the album into be printed. It was honestly a tough choice of mine because a lot of the songs on this album mean a lot to me, but this one just stood out as being the single, and so I went with my gut feeling.

What’s the idea of the music video?

Dylan: It takes place back in Tennessee while I’m out on tour. The video starts the morning after I meet her at the show and us basically spending time together. Soon after, I have to take off to the next city on the road and I basically start to realize that I have to go back and so I literally walk away from everything and do everything I can to make it back to her. When working with the directors we threw some fun spins it the story-line to make it also a little humorous along the way.
